Kajabi pricing: what Basic, Growth and Pro cost, and what Kajabi takes from your sales

How well we know this tool: Free trial — 14-day trial from August 27, 2026, cancelled September 7, 2026, before the trial's end date of September 10, 2026. What we saw from inside was the Basic plan only; Growth and Pro were not seen from inside. No payment went through the site, so no card rate or surcharge here was observed on a real sale. The tax settings screen was lost before we opened it, because cancelling closed the admin at once. Plan prices are from Kajabi's public pricing page, checked by a person on September 9, 2026 and matched by machine on September 27, 2026. What this means.

Kajabi is the course platform you are leaning towards, and before you enter a card you want three numbers: what each plan costs, what Kajabi takes from every sale, and what gets added on top. Every figure below is worked out from Kajabi's own pages, and the arithmetic is shown so you can redo it.

The short answer

Kajabi's pricing page puts it as “No hidden fees. No revenue sharing.” On Kajabi Payments, or on PayPal, Kajabi takes 0% of your sales on every plan. What comes off each sale on Kajabi Payments is mainly card processing, which the pricing page gives, for creators based in the US only, as 2.9% on Basic, 2.8% on Growth and 2.7% on Pro, plus $0.30 a sale; Kajabi's country fee pages list other fees as well, covered below. If you are in a country where Kajabi Payments is available and connect your own Stripe instead, Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro. Outside those countries Kajabi says that surcharge is not charged.

The plan price has tax added according to your billing address, and Kajabi's sales tax feature does not file or remit the sales tax on your own sales for you. Both are covered below, in Kajabi's words.

What each plan costs, monthly and annually

Plan Billed monthly Billed annually A year on annual Saved by paying annually
Kajabi Basic $179 /mo $143 /mo $1,716 $432 Kajabi: “Save $432/year”
Kajabi Growth $249 /mo $199 /mo $2,388 $600 Kajabi: “Save $600/year”
Kajabi Pro $499 /mo $399 /mo $4,788 $1,200 Kajabi: “Save $1200/year”

The "Saved by paying annually" column is twelve months at the monthly price minus twelve at the annual price. Next to it is the badge Kajabi's pricing page shows for the same plan, read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

Our subtraction and Kajabi's badge agree on all three plans. The discount works out at 20% on each plan. That percentage is our arithmetic (20% to 20.1% before rounding), not a figure Kajabi prints.

Two things about the annual price that the pricing page does not put next to it. It is not locked: Kajabi's help on managing a subscription says “Annual plan pricing may change at renewal. If your renewal amount is higher than your previous year’s charge, this reflects Kajabi’s current published pricing for your plan. Kajabi does not offer price locks or renewal discounts to offset price increases.” And every plan carries a refund window; from the pricing page's FAQ: “Yes. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel whenever you like, and every plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee.” (Both read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.) Whether a year paid up front is worth it for you is a question of how long you will stay, and that arithmetic, for Kajabi and the other platforms, is in annual vs monthly pricing.

Does Kajabi take a percentage of your sales?

Kajabi answers this in the FAQ on its pricing page. Asked “Does Kajabi take a cut of my sales?”, it says:

Kajabi does not take a revenue share as a platform, you keep whatever you earn. We do have a standard credit card processing fee for Kajabi Payments, which differs by country. All fees available by country here. Additionally, if you are in a region where Kajabi Payments is offered but opt to use third party payment processor, there is an additional processing fee. If you are in a region where Kajabi Payments is not offered, there is no additional processing fee.

Kajabi's pricing FAQ, read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

That leaves three cases, and which one you are in depends on where your business is registered and how you take payment. Kajabi's pricing-update page defines the surcharge in one sentence:

the 3rd party payment provider fee applies to all transactions processed through a 3rd party payment provider (like Stripe) in regions where Kajabi Payments is also available. It does not apply to transactions processed with Kajabi Payments or PayPal in any region, or a 3rd party payment provider in regions where Kajabi Payments is not available.

Kajabi Payments is available to businesses registered in 25 countries: United States, Canada, Australia, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom, plus 20 European countries. The full list, and the rule Kajabi uses to pick the European ones, is on which countries can use Kajabi Payments. What the surcharge costs in dollars at each revenue level is on the own-Stripe page; at $5,000 a month on Basic, it is $100 a month.

The card rate is not the same everywhere. The 2.9% on Basic, 2.8% on Growth and 2.7% on Pro on the pricing page is for creators based in the US. Kajabi's help on processing fees says so: “The rates shown on our pricing page are for U.S. based Heroes only. Kajabi Payments fees vary by country.” Other countries have their own pages. We read the UK, Europe, Canada and Australia pages; we have not read the page for the United Arab Emirates. The base card rates on those 4 pages are:

Those are the base rates only. All 4 pages add: “Dispute, currency conversion, sales tax, and invoicing fees may also apply.” None of the 4 gives a rate per plan. The US pricing page steps the card rate down from Basic to Pro; the UK, Europe and Australia pages say instead: “You may qualify for discounted card rates based on your plan. To check, go to Account Settings > Billing for details of your current plan.” The Canada page says much the same in different words. So outside the US, we cannot tell you whether a higher plan lowers your card rate, or by how much. These rates were read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

What Growth adds, and the revenue at which it pays for itself

Growth costs $56 a month more than Basic on annual billing, or $70 on monthly. The pricing page's feature table lists these as starting at Growth (read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person): Cohorts Courses, Affiliate Programs, Advanced Automations, Webhooks, Comment-to-DM and Remove Kajabi Branding. The limits move too:

Plan Billed annually Contacts Products AI credits
Kajabi Basic $143 /mo 2,500 5 0
Kajabi Growth $199 /mo 25,000 50 500
Kajabi Pro $399 /mo 100,000 Unlimited 1,000

All from the pricing page. Basic's 2,500 contacts was checked by a person on September 14, 2026; the other contact, product and website figures were read by machine on September 14, 2026 and not checked by a person. AI credits: read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

On fees alone, the upgrade barely pays. Kajabi takes nothing from your sales on either plan, so the only fee that changes is the card rate, and only if you use Kajabi Payments and the US rates apply to you: 2.9% on Basic, 2.8% on Growth. A difference of 0.1% of revenue has to cover $56 a month, so Growth pays for itself at about $56,000 a month in sales on annual billing ($70,000 on monthly). The $0.30 per sale is the same on both plans and drops out.

If you are in a country where Kajabi Payments is available and take payments through your own provider, the surcharge on each plan and the revenue at which a higher plan pays for itself are worked out, with the assumptions stated, on the own-Stripe page.

The contact limit. Basic holds 2,500 contacts and Growth 25,000. The limit can also be raised without changing plan. Kajabi's pricing page FAQ (read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person):

We'll let you know, and you can either add capacity to your current plan or move up to the next one. Contacts come in blocks of 25,000 for $125 a month, at any size.

Its help on managing a subscription prices contacts in a smaller step: 5,000 contacts for $25 a month, which is $5 per thousand, the same rate per thousand as the FAQ's block. The same help page (read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person) adds: “The option to increase your limit will appear when you reach 80% of your limit.” Which step you are offered decides the arithmetic, and we have not seen that screen:

For annual plans the help page says: “If you have purchased an annual plan, your feature limit increase will be charged on an annual basis.” And: “However, if you wish to pay on a split cadence (e.g., Base Plan is Annual and your feature limit increase charged monthly), you will need to contact our support team.” It does not say whether the annual price for an increase is discounted, so we have not worked that case. The same trade-off, set against a separate email tool, is on Kajabi's bundled email vs Thinkific + Kit.

Pro costs $200 a month more than Growth on annual billing, and on the US card rates would need about $200,000 a month in sales to pay for itself on fees. What it adds is Branded Mobile App (“Included ($199/mo value)” on the pricing page), API (“Included ($25/mo value)” on the pricing page) and Custom Code Editor, 100,000 contacts and 3 websites (read by machine on September 14, 2026 and not checked by a person). Kajabi's own FAQ, asked “Which plan should I start on?”, answers: “If you haven't sold anything yet, Basic is the right plan for you. Growth makes sense once revenue is coming in and your list is past a few thousand people. Pro is for anyone running more than one brand, or who wants their own app in the App Store.” (read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.)

Tax on top of the price

There are two separate taxes here, and Kajabi handles them differently.

Tax on your Kajabi plan. Kajabi's subscription tax FAQ: “Kajabi collects tax based on applicable laws. Kajabi calculates the exact tax for each account and includes it in the invoice.” “Tax will be calculated based on the billing address listed on your account. Tax rates vary by location.” And on what “tax” means there: “All references to tax in this article, as it relates to your Kajabi subscription, refer to applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST.” The trial's subscription screen showed that taxes are added, on September 6, 2026: the Basic plan at $179 a month on monthly billing, followed by “*plus applicable taxes”. It did not show a rate, and we lost access before a first invoice. So the prices in the tables above are before tax, and the tax depends on where you are billed.

Sales tax on what you sell. Kajabi offers a feature for this, Kajabi Sales Tax. Its help page describes what it does: “Kajabi partnered with Quaderno (one of the world’s leading sales tax compliance platforms) to enable at-checkout calculation and collection of sales tax factoring in the tax jurisdictions you set up, the product or service (i.e., offer) being sold, and your customer’s location.” And what it does not:

Kajabi Sales Tax also makes it easy for you to file and remit any sales tax you collect with detailed sales tax reporting. It does not file or remit sales taxes on your behalf. You are responsible for filing and remitting any sales tax that you collect.

Three things from the same page matter before you count on it. It needs Kajabi Payments, and it is switched on offer by offer: “Kajabi Payments must be selected as a payment option in the offer for you to collect sales tax. Sales tax can be enabled for any Offer you choose.” You register with each tax authority yourself: “Once you know where you’re responsible for charging sales tax, register with the tax authority in each of those jurisdictions.” And it is not free: “With Kajabi Sales Tax, you only pay for what you use. The fee is charged per successful transaction and will only apply to transactions for Offers that have Kajabi Sales Tax enabled.” The amount is on each country's fee page.

If you sell to buyers in the EU: the word VAT does not appear on this page, which describes where it applies as “jurisdictions (states, countries, and so on)”. It does not say whether Kajabi Sales Tax covers EU VAT. The one Kajabi page quoted here that names VAT is the subscription tax FAQ above, and that is about the tax on your Kajabi plan, not on your sales. These quotes were read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

What the free trial showed us

The trial terms, from Kajabi's help: “Kajabi offers a maximum free trial period of 14 days, and extensions are not available once this period ends.” A card is taken at sign-up: “When you sign up for a free trial on Kajabi, a $149 authorization hold is placed on your card to validate your payment method. This hold confirms that the card works as expected and helps prevent fraudulent payment methods from being used.” “This is not a charge; the hold will be immediately reversed when the validation on the card succeeds.” And: “If you cancel your trial before its scheduled end date, you will not be billed, and the authorization hold will not convert into a charge.” These help pages were read by machine on September 27, 2026 and not yet checked by a person.

What the Basic trial's own screens showed, with the date each was seen:

Kajabi's own answer to "isn't it expensive?"

Kajabi puts the question in its pricing FAQ itself:

Isn't Kajabi expensive for a course platform?
If you are just looking at a course delivery platform, yes. But, Kajabi is also the email tool, the website, the community and the checkout, and it takes no cut of your sales. Price the pieces à la carte and Kajabi is the cheaper way to run the whole business from a few thousand contacts up.

Read by machine on September 23, 2026, and still on the page on September 27, 2026.

It is a fair way to frame it, and it is also an argument rather than a number. This page does not price those pieces. For the email part, this comparison puts Kajabi's bundle against a cheaper course platform plus a separate email tool at each list size, and the answer changes with the size of your list.

Who Kajabi's pricing is wrong for

What this page does not tell you

Check it yourself

Every dollar figure on this page comes from two lines of arithmetic:

monthly cost = plan + revenue × (card rate + own-provider surcharge, if it applies) + sales × $0.30

a higher plan pays for itself on fees when revenue × (fee rate on the lower plan − fee rate on the higher plan) = difference in plan price

To run your own revenue and number of sales through the same formula, with Kajabi's three plans next to the other platforms, use the course platform fee calculator.

Who pays us

Kajabi pays us 30% of what you pay it, for as long as that customer keeps paying, if you sign up through our link. A caveat on that: this comes from their application page and we have not been able to re-check it inside the dashboard.

Two of the platforms this page compares Kajabi with pay us as well, on our records:

Payhip, named in the list of who this is wrong for, pays us too. On the assumptions of our course platform comparison, the plan that keeps the most at $5,000 a month is Thinkific Basic, $103 a month more than Kajabi Basic, and it is one of the ones that pays us. If all you need is to sell courses, that is the cheaper plan, and this page is not trying to talk you out of it.

If you have read this far and Kajabi is still the one, this is our affiliate link: start a Kajabi trial. It costs you nothing extra and changes no number on this page.

Kajabi's plan prices matched by machine against its public pricing page on September 27, 2026, and last checked by a person on September 9, 2026. If a number here is out of date, tell us at hello@feesandfigures.com and we will fix it and note the change at the top of this article.
