Fees & Figures earns affiliate commissions. This page explains exactly how, in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and later pay for that product, the company pays us a commission. You pay exactly the same price either way. Nothing is added to your bill.

How it works

• Clicking an affiliate link stores a cookie in your browser identifying us as the referrer.
• If you start a paid plan within that cookie's window — usually 30 to 90 days — the company records the sale and pays us a share.
• Many of these are recurring commissions: we are paid a percentage each month for as long as you stay subscribed.
• We never see your payment details, your account, or your personal information. We only see aggregate counts in the affiliate network dashboard.

This list changes. We update it when we join or leave a program. Programs are run through affiliate networks including Impact, PartnerStack, and Awin, as well as directly with some companies.

How this affects what we write

Honestly: a commission is an incentive, and pretending otherwise would be worse than disclosing it. Here is how we contain it.

• We recommend tools we do not earn from when they are the better fit, and we say so in the article.
• Ranking is never sold. No company can pay for a position, a rating, or inclusion.
• Criticism stays. We do not remove a negative finding because a partner asked.
• Every review names who should not buy it. If a tool is wrong for you, saying so is worth more to us than one commission.
• No pre-publication review. Vendors see our articles when you do.

Where disclosure appears

Every article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top, before the first link, where you will see it without scrolling. That is what the FTC requires and what we think is simply fair.
