How well we know this tool: Not hands-on — published pricing only — every plan price here comes from Kit's pricing page as a person captured it, with the subscriber count set to five list sizes on both monthly and yearly billing, on September 14, 2026; we matched each plan price to those captures. Plan features and billing terms come from Kit's help articles: the Free plan and Commerce overview articles were checked by a person on September 14, 2026, and the Creator vs Creator Pro and billing articles were read by machine on September 14, 2026. We have no Kit account. What this means.

Your email list is somewhere between 1,000 and 25,000 subscribers, or heading there, and you want to know what Kit will charge at that size, on which plan, and whether paying yearly is worth it. Kit (formerly ConvertKit) prices its paid plans from one question on its pricing page, “How many email subscribers do you have?”, so the tables below are that page with the answer set to five list sizes, on monthly and on yearly billing.

The short answer

Every figure is a monthly cost before tax. The pricing page's cards name the two paid plans “Creator” and “Pro”; Kit's help articles call the second one Creator Pro, and so does this page from here on.

Subscribers Creator, yearly Creator, monthly
1,000 $32.50 $39
3,000 $49.17 $59
5,000 $74.17 $89
10,000 $115.83 $139
25,000 $165.83 $199
Subscribers Creator Pro, yearly Creator Pro, monthly
1,000 $65.83 $79
3,000 $82.50 $99
5,000 $115.83 $139
10,000 $157.50 $189
25,000 $232.50 $279

Read the "Creator, yearly" column and the "Creator Pro, yearly" column as the yearly price divided by twelve, to the cent. Kit's yearly card rounds that up to a whole dollar: at 3,000 subscribers it shows $50 /mo for $590 a year, which is $49.17.

From 1,000 to 25,000 subscribers the list is 25 times as large, and Creator on yearly billing goes from $32.50 to $165.83 a month, 5.1 times as much. At all five sizes, on both plans, the yearly price is exactly ten times the monthly one, which is Kit's billing help article in numbers: “Our annual plans offer 12 months for the price of 10.”

Where the Free plan stops

The Free card on the pricing page reads “Free—up to 10,000 subscribers”, and Kit's help article on the plan lists “Up to 10,000 email subscribers”. The same help article also puts the limit this way:

The Free plan costs $0 per month for as long as you stay under 10,000 subscribers.

“Up to” includes 10,000 and “under” does not. The one help article uses both, so we cannot tell you which reading Kit applies at exactly that number. On the pricing page, with the list size set to 10,000, the Free card still reads “Try Kit for free”. With the list size set to 25,000 (each card is then labelled “For 25,000 email subscribers”), the same card shows “Up to 10,000 subscribers only”. For a Free account that grows past the limit, the help article says:

You'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to keep sending. Everything you've built stays exactly where it is, and automations, sequences, and the rest of the paid features unlock as soon as you upgrade.

So the Free plan is limited by list size and by features, not by a number of days: the help article's cost line quoted above ties the $0 to the list, not to a date. The 14-day free trial is a separate thing, listed for Creator and Creator Pro in Kit's help article comparing its paid plans. As for features, the Free plan article is specific. The Free plan is built around growing your list. These features live on the Creator and Creator Pro plans:

If your list will stay under 10,000 and nothing in that list is something you need, Kit costs you $0, and the paid tables on this page describe a later version of your list.

What each step up the list costs

These five sizes are the only ones we captured. The page may price sizes between them, and we have not read those prices, so each row below is the jump from one captured size to the next, per month on yearly billing. The smaller figure in each cell, marked “/1k”, divides that jump by the thousands of subscribers added: an average across the step, not a price Kit quotes.

25,000
from 10,000
+$50.00
$3.33/1k
+$75.00
$5.00/1k

Per 1,000 subscribers added, Creator's largest step is 3,000 to 5,000 at $12.50 a month and its smallest is 10,000 to 25,000 at $3.33. For Creator Pro the same measure runs from $16.67 (3,000 to 5,000) down to $5.00 (10,000 to 25,000).

Is yearly billing worth it?

In the "Creator, saved a year" column and the "Creator Pro, saved a year" column, the figure is the monthly price times twelve minus the yearly price, at the same list size:

Subscribers Creator, saved a year Creator Pro, saved a year
1,000 $78 $158
3,000 $118 $198
5,000 $178 $278
10,000 $278 $378
25,000 $398 $558

Because the yearly price is ten months of the monthly price at every size, the saving is always two months' worth: 16.7% of what twelve monthly payments would cost. The page labels monthly billing “Billed monthly (Pay yearly, save 17%)”, and 17% matches 16.7% rounded to a whole number. The yearly Creator card at 25,000 puts it in dollars: “$1,990 billed yearly—Save $398 per year”.

The saving only arrives if you stay. At an unchanged list size, a year billed yearly costs the same as ten monthly payments, so it comes out ahead only if you would otherwise have paid monthly for more than ten months. If your list may shrink, if you may move it to another tool, or if you are still testing whether a list is worth running, the saving above assumes a year you may not use. If the list grows into a higher tier, Kit's billing help (read by machine on September 14, 2026, not checked by a person) says “No need to do anything—the upgrade will happen automatically!” and, for a yearly plan, “If you're on an annual plan, we'll bill you the difference between the credit and the charge immediately upon upgrade.” On leaving a yearly plan: “Our 30-day refund policy applies to all plans, including annual plans. However, we do not refund or pro-rate payments made more than 30 days prior to the request.”

Creator vs Creator Pro: what the gap costs

What Creator Pro costs on top of Creator at the same list size, per month:

Subscribers Creator Pro extra, yearly Creator Pro extra, monthly
1,000 $33.33 $40
3,000 $33.33 $40
5,000 $41.67 $50
10,000 $41.67 $50
25,000 $66.67 $80

On yearly billing the gap runs $33.33, $33.33, $41.67, $41.67 and $66.67 a month across the five sizes: it never shrinks as the list grows, and it is largest at 25,000. What it pays for, in the words of Kit's help article comparing the two:

The Creator and Creator Pro plans are paid plans that include Kit's full set of core email marketing tools. Creator Pro adds advanced reporting, automation, audience, and growth features.

Selling from Kit

The plan price is not the whole cost if you sell to the list through Kit. Kit's help article on Commerce: “Commerce is available on every plan, including the Free plan.” Selling in USD costs 3.5% + $0.30 per sale with card processing included, on any plan in the tables above, and the arithmetic is in Kit Commerce fees. For Kit's price next to a course platform's, see Kajabi's bundled email vs Thinkific plus Kit. For Kit's price and fee next to beehiiv's on a paid newsletter, see beehiiv vs Kit pricing.

Kit: pricing page, The Kit Free plan, Creator plan vs Creator Pro plan, Billing at Kit and Sell digital products with Kit: overview and FAQs. A person set the pricing page's subscriber count to 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 25,000, and captured each on both monthly and yearly billing on September 14, 2026. We matched every plan price above to those captures. Of the help articles, the Free plan and Commerce overview articles were checked by a person on September 14, 2026, and the Creator vs Creator Pro and billing articles were read by machine on September 14, 2026.

The arithmetic: yearly per month = yearly price ÷ 12. Saved a year = monthly price × 12 − yearly price. A step per 1,000 = (yearly price at the larger size − yearly price at the smaller) ÷ 12 ÷ thousands of subscribers added. Creator Pro extra, yearly = (Creator Pro yearly price − Creator yearly price) ÷ 12.

If you are going to sign up anyway

This is our affiliate link: Open a Kit account. If you move to a paid plan through it, Kit pays us a 50% commission, for 12 months; after that, only if we refer at least 10 paying customers a year, which we have not done so far. If the Free plan covers your list and what you need, that is where this page points you, whatever that pays us. Using the link costs you nothing extra and changes no number here.

A caveat on our own terms: the figure is from the offer heading in the partner dashboard; we have not yet opened the offer details.
